Banana & Squash Puree

Once a week I prep Kyler's food for daycare for the week. As mentioned in a previous post, he has a severe allergic reaction to anything dairy - so I'm really careful about him not consuming any. He literally only just tried yogurt yesterday - dairy free coconut milk yogurt. See earlier post for product, price and where to buy.

Kyler also doesn't have any teeth as yet so he's not able to cut and chew so my blender does get some moderate use as I have to make everything into puree form.

What you'll need:

- 2 ripe bananas - Half a squash - Water - enough to cover squash in a pot

- Breast milk or formula (optional)

How to make:

Clean and peel the squash. Cut into chunks. Place water in pot on high heat. Place chunks of squash in pot and bring to a boil. Cook until tender and put in blender. Save the water that was used to cook squash.

Peel bananas and put in blender with squash. Pulse until the consistency desired is reached. Use some of the water that you cooked the squash in to thin out the puree if need be. You can also use some breast milk or formula if you desire.

Portion out puree in storage containers for the week. I use some recycled baby food glass containers with the metal lid and some plastic containers with lids. I got the plastic ones from Fosters for $4.99 per pack of two. Make sure to initial everything as things can get mixed up at daycare
